| To provide competition to Microsoft an alliance of software, hardware, professional service, telecommunication and content provider companies will be required. This alliance will also be needed if a total business monopoly, through market dominance in standardised marketplace computing, is to be prevented. More importantly however, such an alliance will be needed if the dangerous legacy of the IT industry (the impairment of the development, expansion, management and application of knowledge) is to be resolved. |
