We all hit lows. We all get down and despondence and some of us get real depression. How do you brake the cycle and pick yourself up?
You are down and out or trapped in an endless cycle. You know you have to brake the cycle and get out of it. You do not need another person telling you how to run your life. What you need is a way to pick your up, a way to trip the circuit. Again, there is no simple answer. What it will take though is the following:
- A motivation from you.
- A recognition of the problem and a wish to change it.
- Reflect upon your skills and how good a person you are - list the good things about you.
- Write a list of things you want to achieve. Reflect upon this list. Then act on just one.
- Write a list of 10 people you know and who have helped you in the past or who's lives you have impacted.
- Seek help from family, friends and support groups etc. We all need help in our lives.
- Treat yourself to things and acknowledge what you have done.

To ask for help is not a sign of failure. To ask for help is a sign that you are coping with things. To ask for help is the smart thing to do. Whilst consistency and persistency are important and determination to follow through is required, the definition of insanity is to keep doing the same theing and to expect a different result.
Go and do something that you want to do. No matter how small or insignificant it may seem, go do one thing that you wanted to achieve. Just go do it, how you will do it, who will pay for it etc. will all take care of itself. What is important is that you brake the cycle, just go do it.
Take a good luck at yourself in the mirror and tell me what you see. Remember, if you can write a list of 10 ways to commit suicide, you have something to live for.
Remember to stop doing things that make you depressed and frustrated. Find an alternative way to do it. Consider the futile task of applying for jobs through recruitment agencies. Bypass them. Approach employers directly instead.
